Start of the Round Robin Tests for Biodiesel and Vegetable/Used Cooking Oils 2023

After the complete revision, registration for the round robin tests of the Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) is possible until 24 February 2023.

In cooperation with the Technical Committee for Mineral Oil and Fuel Standardization (FAM) in DIN, AGQM offers the world’s only round robin tests for biodiesel (fatty acid methyl ester, FAME) and vegetable & used cooking oils.

The round robin test for biodiesel has been completely revised in 2023 and is now divided into five parts. This gives participants the opportunity to register for the tests that are relevant to them. At the same time, the costs for the round robin tests can be almost maintained or reduced for individual parts compared to the previous year.

"A standard-compliant product can only be obtained through well-coordinated quality assurance in all areas. A large and important part of quality assurance is the analysis of components used and produced. In the AGQM/FAM round robin tests, all laboratories can check their own measurement performance and compare themselves with more than 50 international participants," says Dr. Richard Wicht, CEO of AGQM.

In the main round robin test part FAME nearly all parameters of the standard EN 14214 as well as some additional parameters such as pour point and saturated monoglycerides are queried. To guarantee stable samples and reduce the material input the parameters oxidation stability, methanol, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and the cetane number can be determined in further round robin test parts. The independent round robin test "Vegetable & Used Cooking Oils" addresses the analysis of oils (DIN 51623 and EN 14214), which is also used in the incoming goods inspection. Due to the ever-increasing use of more demanding raw material matrices, incoming goods inspection is becoming increasingly important for all processing companies.

After the round robin tests have been carried out, each participant receives an anonymized evaluation report and a certificate as proof of their own measurement competence.

The registration for the round robin tests is still possible until 24th February 2023 at http://rrt.agqm-biodiesel.com.
