Despite Market Pressure – AGQM Biodiesel Quality improved in 2017

Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) releases Quality Report 2017 including all results from the sampling regularly performed at biodiesel producers and warehouse operators.

In 2017, AGQM performed three sampling campaigns at their members; 53 samples were taken and 1060 parameters were analysed. All samples fulfilled the requirements of DIN EN 14214 and the stricter AGQM requirements. Only 14 limits were violated but all violations were within the precision of the method. This is an improvement to the previous year where three limits were violated outside of the precision of the method.

The parameters considered to be particularly critically by the automotive industry have been very succesfull. For alkali metals sodium and potassium all measured values are below 3 mg/kg (limit Na+K max. 5 mg/kg), for earth alkali metals magnesium and calcium all measured values are even below the determination limit of 1 mg/kg. For phosphorus content all values but two are below 0.5 mg/kg.

The detailed quality report about the sampling at AGQM’s producers and warehouse operators 2017 as well as an information sheet with all the average values for the individual parameters can be found on the homepage of AGQM under ‘quality’.
