Biodiesel – A Fuel on the Move AGQM’s - 6th International Conference

Strategies for Biofuels of the future must be developed jointly by all parties involved. This is the conclusion experts from the mineral oil, automotive and Biodiesel industries drew at the ‘6th International Conference on Biodiesel – A Fuel on the Move’.

First generation biofuels face an uncertain future. Even though they contribute significantly to maintaining our mobility and reducing greenhouse gas – in the absence of alternatives – their turnover is decreasing steadily due to the controversial debate on quota policy and sustainability proofs. In the light of that 70 experts from all economic sectors involved discussed the situation at the 6th International Conference on Biodiesel which was hosted by Arbeitsgemeinschaft Qualitaetsmanagement Biodiesel e.V. (AGQM) on 7 and 8 May 2013. The presentations given at the conference by expert from research illustrated that in the future Biodiesel will continue to fulfill the increasing requirements with regard to emissions, performance, improved durability of materials and reduced consumption. It was emphasized once again that all parties involved must develop a joint strategy to bring technical challenges and the political as well as economic framework in line, so that Biodiesel – a fuel on the move – will find its way into a future of changes.
