US soya beans can be used for European biofuels

According to an announcement from the European Commission US soya beans meet the technical requirements to be used in biofuels in the EU. As it believes that renewable energy is the future for Europe, biofuels that are put into the market have to fulfill high sustainability standards. There has been a 112 % increase of imported US soya beans by the EU over the current market year in comparison to the previous year. The US remains Europe’s number one supplier of soya beans, with a share of 75% being imported.
