Brazil’s ANP approves B15 and raises oxidation stability to min. 12 h

The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) in Brazil has approved the sale and use of B15 from 1 September. The minimum biodiesel content will be increased from 10 to 11 percent. Various fuel, engine and vehicle tests were performed by the Brazilian Association of Automotive Engineering (AEA), the National Institute of Technology and different companies. These tests resulted in the mandatory addition of an antioxidant to biodiesel and a new specification limit for the oxidation stability of minimum 12 hours instead of the previous eight-hour minimum.
