Biofuels potential to reduce GHGs not being exhausted

The German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) evaluated the sustainability certificates for 2016. The average GHG reduction of biofuels compared to fossil fuels is 73 percent. Due to this high GHG efficiency of the biofuels the demand for them is sinking. This can be seen by the actual share of biodiesel in the fuel market which was reduced to 5.68 percent in 2016 (compared to 5.84 percent in 2015).
