Madrid purchases B100-compatible hybrid busses

From June Scania will supply 51 hybrid busses of the “Citywide” series to the Spanish capital. For public transport in Madrid, there are tough measures. Fossil Diesel has not been allowed in new busses since 2010. For Scania’s new hybrid busses this is not a problem, with their 9-liter engines with 320 PS they are permitted to use pure Biodiesel. Another feature is the exhaust gas treatment which does without particle filter. A SCR catalyst for NOx reduction should be enough to comply with the tough emission requirements in the city area.
